Camp Douglas Area | Target Bluff Marketplace Shops |
What is Target Bluff Shops? At Target Bluff Shops our mission is to promote awareness of locally made products and antiques by providing retail space in an environment that nurtures creativity and encourages growth. We hope the combination of old & new will inspire our customers and keep them coming back. Contact: Janet & Steve Horstman | Ph. 608-487-4674 Steve and I purchased the Target Bluff German Haus Restaurant building in Dec of 2016 with the intention of running an antique and craft mall. The building is over 12,000 sq ft and has a very versatile layout. We were both working full time and spent the next year fixing and refurbishing the building as we built our vendor base. We opened in 2018 with about 30 vendors and quickly realized the number of local entrepreneurs, and how fun it was to work with them. We provide affordable space ($35 up to $150/month) to display their items, using about 30% of the building. We have taken the bar area and use it as our restaurant and the remainder of the building to sell antiques and vintage items. The best part of my job is watching the creativity of my vendors, my customers, and my kitchen staff — There is nothing as good as seeing the face of someone who has just had a great idea and helping them make it come to life!! |
Visit the GOLD Lake Decorah Weed Harvester |
Lake Decorah is formed by a dam in downtown Mauston. A combination of eutrophication, flooding, historic area agricultural practices and invasive species resulted in deteriorating water quality, aesthetics and navigability. A small grassroots group of citizens formed five years ago to address this community issue. GOLD’s intervening development and recruitment of partners as it continues its work are notable. Rural Partners is a strong proponent of grassroots involvement in community initiatives and the use of a variety of partners to reach goals. GOLD’s work includes an extensive number of partners and collaborators in the community. |
Mauston's business district main street and visit the Oh! Arts Studio and Milk & Sugar Ice Cream Shop |
Oh! Arts Cooperative in Mauston is a Gallery, and Learning Center, started by a group of artists and friends. It draws on their talents and the amazing talents of others around them to forge a community of creativity. It is a place for artists to work and teach, showcasing their visual, musical and soulful secrets. It's the perfect place for you to buy an unusual gift, commission a piece of art for your home, listen to music, and indulge in a massage. |
